Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, general health, tobacco use, coverage amount and term length. Those six answers are sufficient to return carrier quotes. Your name, address and detailed health information are only collected if you decide to apply.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

They represent the rates each carrier quotes for the health class you selected. The carrier's final premium is determined after underwriting, which may affirm, improve or adjust the class. This site does not offer insurance or guarantee any particular price.

What happens when I click Apply?

You select a carrier and continue into a secure application prefilled with your answers. You can pause and return to finish later, and you sign electronically when ready. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency (License 0B75129), handles the applications.

Will I need a medical exam?

That depends on the carrier, the coverage amount and your answers. Carriers marked Immediate coverage can make decisions right away for qualified applicants; each quote shows whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.

Is a longer term better?

A term covers the years when your death would cause financial hardship: a mortgage, dependent children, a business loan. Longer terms have a higher monthly cost but lock in your rate for more years. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year terms side by side.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not collect contact information, we do not sell or share visitor information, and our measurement respects privacy. See the privacy page for a full list of what is collected and which services collect it.
